🧑‍💻 Job Title: Hardware Testing Engineer (Jr Gr-I)

Department: Production Dept. (Main Floor)

Location: Pune

Reports To: Head of Engineering / Technical Manager

🎯 Role Overview:

The Embedded Hardware Design Engineer is responsible for production lot testing, developing, debugging, and validating electronic hardware used in embedded systems/SMPS/Power supplies. This includes understanding schematics, checking components on board, performing simulations, and working closely with firmware/ PCB faults if not functional, and mechanical teams to deliver robust and cost-effective production.

Responsibilities

  • Understand & Conduct Functional Testing for the hardware with process flow
  • Execute Test Plans and Protocols for the production & relevant processes.
  • Identify and Troubleshoot Hardware Issues,
  • Documenting results accurately 
  • Support Continuous Improvement Initiatives

Must Have

  • Bachelor Degree or Higher
  • PCB and Component-Level Testing, trouble shooting knowledge
  • Perfect written English
  • Knowledge of handling instruments like oscilloscope, multimeter, electronic load etc.,
  • Cross-Team Support, Leadership skills

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with test procedures for SMPS, LED drivers, microcontroller boards, etc.,
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics and datasheets, fault analysis
  • Basic soldering & rework skills for prototype assembly
  • Willingness to learn, adapt, and work with R&D and production teams

📌 Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Testing & Validation:
    • Perform functional, electrical, and environmental testing of hardware products.
    • Conduct manual and automated tests as per standard operating procedures.
  2. Test Setup & Execution:
    • Prepare test benches, instruments (multimeters, oscilloscopes, power analyzers, micro controller programming tools), and setups.
    • Ensure accurate wiring, connections, and signal integrity during test runs.
  3. Data Logging & Analysis:
    • Record test data, readings, and performance parameters.
    • Identify deviations from specifications and report findings.
  4. Troubleshooting & Debugging:
    • Assist in identifying issues in PCB assemblies, power supplies, or embedded systems.
    • Work closely with design engineers to replicate, isolate, and debug faults.
  5. Documentation & Reporting:
    • Prepare test reports, log sheets, and issue reports in prescribed formats.
    • Maintain daily records of activities, test results, and component usage.
  6. Compliance & Quality:
    • Follow safety protocols and test procedures as per ISO/IEC/BIS/EN standards.
    • Ensure all testing complies with internal quality and reliability standards.
  7. Components Handling:
    • Manage test components, fixtures, and return of items to stock after testing.
    • Maintain calibration records of test instruments.
  8. Team Collaboration:
    • Support senior test engineers and production teams during pilot builds or DVT/PVT stages.
    • Participate in daily meetings to update status and discuss observations.


Preferred Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Diploma in Electronics Engineering.
  • Min. 1-2 years of experience in testing / trouble shooting (freshers with strong internship may also apply).
  • Proficient in circuit design testing, knowledge of component, and use of test instruments.
  • Strong hands-on experience in hardware debugging and electronic assembly testing.
  • Familiarity with regulatory certifications like ISO-ZED etc.
